And this was in April folks. Lest you think we're lightweights, we also had to prepare the ground--by pulling weeds, scraping the ubiquitous gravel away, and digging holes--and cut back the cat's claw from the neighbor's yard that grew over the wall.
We weren't totally unhappy with the cat's claw since it afforded us some shade on that wall, decreasing the radiant heat by couple degrees, and gave Jake the cat somewhere to hide out in the heat. But it's a climber so has all those little tendrils that grab onto anything in order to continue the plan's upward and outward growth. And since this one was overgrown it was a pain in the a$$.
There was much bellyaching from the usual suspects... Alec and I just couldn't help ourselves. :)
But we got it done.
